Gujarat News: The Cyber Crime Branch of Gujarat Police has arrested three accused for leaking and sharing private videos of female patients in hospitals on social media. One of the accused was also uploading videos of women bathing at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj.
Shocking Case of Sharing Women’s Videos at Mahakumbh
On Friday (February 21), Gujarat Crime Branch revealed details of this case. Among the three arrested, one accused, Chandra Prakash, was recording and sharing videos of women bathing at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj.
According to the police, the accused had created a YouTube channel named ‘CP Monda,’ where he uploaded these videos. Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Police Deputy Commissioner Lavina Sinha stated that Chandra Prakash was arrested from Prayagraj, while the other two accused, Prajwal Teli and Praj Patil, were detained from Latur and Sangli in Maharashtra.
Selling Female Patients’ Videos for Money
The police investigation revealed that the accused recorded private videos of female patients from a hospital in Rajkot and shared them on the Telegram platform to earn money.
According to Sinha, Prajwal Teli and Praj Patil obtained objectionable videos of female patients through a hacker, while Chandra Prakash downloaded videos from other YouTube channels and uploaded them to his own. The police are now investigating whether Chandra Prakash was also earning money from these videos.
Videos Leaked from Hospital CCTV
The viral videos on social media were actually leaked from the CCTV footage of Payal Maternity Home in Rajkot. The footage showed female patients undergoing check-ups with female doctors and receiving injections from nurses in a closed room.
The police have started questioning the hospital administration to find out how the CCTV footage was leaked. More arrests may follow as the police continue their investigation into this cybercrime network.
Violation of Women’s Privacy at Mahakumbh
Shockingly, the accused Chandra Prakash had also recorded videos of women bathing at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh and shared them on his YouTube channel. The police suspect that he uploaded these videos to gain views and likes for monetary benefits.
Although there is no direct connection between the two Maharashtra-based accused and Chandra Prakash, strict action is being taken against all of them under cybercrime laws.
Police Conducting an In-Depth Investigation
The Gujarat Police is now trying to uncover the full extent of this cybercrime network and identify if more people are involved. Authorities emphasize that such incidents are a severe violation of privacy rights, and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
